This is an experiment
I will be logging my miles/minutes here. This is time spent on my recumbent bike at home. A good friend has asked me to start logging my time and work up to a 45 minute goal. The idea is to START by putting in 30 minutes a day five days a week. then increase by 1 minute per week till I’m at 45 minutes for each session.
So in order to make sure that I can access my log from anywhere AND that she can see it…..I am…… gulp…… making it a public part of my blog.
Research backs God up that we need rest days so Mondays and Wednesdays will be my “down-time” when I don’t log any bike time.
This will also help with my attempts to lose 2 jeans sizes by December 25th. Right now I am wearing size 14s. I want to get to at least the 10s. The 8s would be better. But the 10s would be fantastic. We will see how it goes.

ahem. After a unconscionably long break I have finally gotten my butt moving again. Martin played a round of 18 holes of disc-golf yesterday and I walked for and hour and a half. I have no idea how far I went. All I know is that for one and a half hours my. feet. did. not. stop. oh and I was pushing Ginny’s stroller with all 17 pounds of her in it, so that was added effort.

4/29/09. Wednesday. 25 minutes on the bike. My left knee started acting up, so I stopped to ice it. *frown*
4/30/09. Thursday. 1 hour on the bike. 18.16 miles. knee still hurts.
5/1/09. Friday. 1 hour on the bike. 18.54 miles. knee aches, but not as badly as yesterday.
5/6/09. Wednesday. 30 minutes on bike. 8.59 miles.
5/7/09. Thursday. 1 hour on the bike. 17.86 miles. knee felt awkward at times, but doesn’t hurt.
5/8/09. Friday. 33 minutes on the bike. 9.98 miles. cramp in left calf. drat.
5.25/09. Monday. 15 minutes. 1 mile. pushing stroller in neighborhood.
5/31/09. Sunday. 1 hour on the bike. 17.56 miles. knees seem fine.
6/7/09. Satruday. 1 hour on the bike. 20.31 miles. YEAH! I broke the 20 mile mark!
6/17/09. Wednesday. 2 different 1 mile treks across campus. AND 1 hour of swimming.
6/18/09. Thursday. 2 different 1 miles treks across campus.
6/19/09. Friday. 2 different 1 miles treks across campus and 1 hour of swimming.
6/25/09. Thursday. one hour and 5 minutes in the pool. left knee acted up after I left the water.
7/1/09. Wednesday. one hours and 10 minutes in the pool.
7/2/09. Thursday. Pool closed today so will do weights and maybe some bike time.
7/17/09. Friday. one hour and 15 minutes in the pool.
7/19/09. Sunday. one hour of playtime in the pool with Ginny
7/22/09. Wednesday. fell down the stairs at home. sprained ankle. no idea how this will effect swim time tonight. *update* swam for an hour. ankle mostly hurt during flutter kick. breast stroke was not painful, so mostly did that.
7/23/09. Thursday. swam for one hour. flutter kick didn’t hurt nearly as much. yay!
7/29/09. Wednesday. one hour and ten minutes in the pool.
8/5/09. Wednesday. 2 mile walk at work.
8/7/09. Friday. 2 miles walk at work.
8/12/09. Wenesday. 1 and a half miles walk at work. in the rain. loved every minute of it.
8/18/09. Tuesday. 1 mile stroll with hubby. I jogged about a quarter of a mile and had to stop that. Hurt my knees too much.
8/19/09. Wednesday. 2 mile walk across campus. I love getting paid while walking.
8/19/09. Wednesday. 30 minutes on the bike.
8/25/09. Tuesday. 1 and a half mile walk across campus. ALSO 1 hour of swimming.
8/27/09. Thursday. 2 mile walk on campus. did it in 45 minutes. All up hill going, down hill coming back. yay for down hill!
9/1/09. Tuesday. 1 hour in the pool.
9/10/09. Thursday. 1 hour in the pool.
9/11/09. Friday. 30 minute/ 2 mile walk with Martin in Lenore Park
9/15/09. Tuesday. 1 hour swim. clocked a 29 second freestyle length (25 meters) yup. I’m old and slow.
9/17/09. Thursday. Huge storm made getting to the pool dangerous. Did 30 minutes on the bike instead. 10.2 miles.
9/19/09. Saturday. 30 minutes on the bike first thing in the morning.
9/21/09. Monday. was supposed to be on the bike. Instead spent the day dodging falling trees, bailing out the basement and collapsing into bed with a slight fever. weird day.
9/22/09. Tuesday. 30 minutes on the bike.
9/23/09. Wednesday. 30 minutes on the bike.
9/27/09. Sunday. spent the weekend setting up and taking down camp. But that doens’t count as aerobic. Neither does singing myself hoarse with my choir. However the 30 minutes I just spent on the bike DO count. I’m off to bed now.
9/29/09. Tuesday. 45 minutes on the bike.
10/14/09. Wednesday. 35 minutes on the bike. 10.91 miles. Yes I took a long break. Martin had swine flu.
10/15/09. Thursday. 35 minutes on the bike. I turn 40 in less than an hour. wow. where did the years go?
10/19/09. Monday. 38 minutes on the bike.
10/28/09. Wednesday. 27 minutes on the bike. leg cramps stopped me cold.
10/29/09. Thursday. 30 minutes on the bike. Weighed in at doc’s office today. 170 which is down five pounds in one week. being sick has its uses I guess.
