snail’s pace

progess is being made, but it’s at a snail’s pace.

Mel is now having good strong contractions every five minutes.  We went from one every 15 to 20 minutes all the way down to five minutes apart in a sudden rush.  But then she has been stalled out at 5 minutes apart since about 6 p.m. local.

She is home from the hospital and doesn’t want to go back till her water breaks, so we are just waiting and trying to keep her occupied/distracted.

Walking is good.  She has eaten one slice of bannana creme pie (just to make my mom happy) and we plan to keep doing things with her to keep her spirits up.  The lengthy labor is really wearing on her nerves, partly because she’s never had it take this long before.

Steve’s mom and step-dad arrived safely, we’ve met them and we really like them.  We all went out to dinner together and then came back to the house and let the guys throw frisbees around while Mel walked.  Steve’s mom and I took turns walking with her.

Just pray for all of us.  Patience has never been my strong suit…………..

  1. Gotta eat more than one piece of pie! That lady has a delicate appetite.

Someone told me today that hot showers help.

All these “helps” are purely unscientific.

Please give my love to Mel and you do know you have my love and prayers.
